Alta Gwendolyn Gaze was an Australian-born film actress who worked in Hollywood during the years 1937–1943. She was born on September 6, 1915, and passed away on August 29, 2010.

Gaze earned degrees from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England, and Pasadena Junior College in California. While she was in England, she appeared in various plays. She appeared in Little Theatre shows after moving to the US.

She also had an onstage appearance in The Women in New York. Universal Pictures signed Gaze, who made her feature film debut in I Cover the War with John Wayne (1937). She also appeared opposite William Boyd in two Hopalong Cassidy movies in 1938.

One of her best performances came as the tyrannical English girl Lorna Drake in her first Hoppy movie, Partners of the Plains.Before relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she worked as a staff member at CKWX radio, Gaze worked in radio in New York and Hollywood in the early 1940s.
