Donald James Ramer MOM is a Canadian police officer who has served as the Toronto Police Service’s (TPS) acting chief of police since August 1, 2020.
Ramer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history from the University of Toronto, as well as post-graduate studies in industrial relations and Ontario history.
Since 1980, he has been a member of the Toronto Police Service. Under Chief Mark Saunders, he was the Deputy Chief of Specialized Operations Command.
On August 1, 2020, Ramer was named acting chief after Saunders resigned.
