Things to Do in Jackson Hole in the Winter

In the wintertime, there are many activities and tours to enjoy in Jackson Hole. You can go dog sledding to experience the land as a dog would and sleigh rides through the National Elk Refuge for unobstructed views of the Tetons. If you’re looking for something more active, you can go cross country skiing or snowmobiling.

If you don’t mind snow, you can also enjoy ice skating at the Jackson Town Square rink. This rink is set against twinkling lights and is free to use. Alternatively, you can take a rope tow or chairlift up to the top of the mountain. Or, take a trail walk that winds through a fragrant pine forest and emerges onto a wide hillside. This trail offers dramatic views and is quieter than many of the other trails in the area.

While you’re here, don’t forget to check out the town’s quaint shops and restaurants. The town has a charming holiday feel during the winter months, with antler-encrusted entrances on all four corners. It’s the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a full weekend vacation.

If you’re looking for a more adventurous activity, consider booking a snowmobile tour. If you’re not into skiing, you can book a sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge. The ride is shorter than skiing, but you’ll need to bring warm clothing and gloves to keep warm. You’ll also need to wear warm boots and wool layers.
