Robinson made his IWA Mid-South debut on January 3, 2009, under the moniker Juice Robinson, when he was defeated by Jason Dukes. Robinson faced Neil Diamond Cutter, Ian Rotten, Jeff Brooks, and Ryan Phoenix in a number of singles bouts.
He then lost to Devon Moore and Nick Gage in the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Title Number One Contenders Seven-Team Royal Rumble. On June 20, he was defeated in a three-way match against Shane Hollister and Trik Davis.
On January 24, 2009, Robinson made his debut in AAW: Professional Wrestling Redefined, teaming up with Rob James in a tag match won by Derek St. Holmes and Dewey Dawson.
