Heche, 53, allegedly crashed her blue Mini Cooper into a garage in Los Angeles on Friday, then backed up and fled before crashing into another house. She was reportedly intubated and is now in critical condition.

After the second collision, the automobile exploded, and Heche, who was apparently severely wounded, was later seen thrashing on a stretcher as first responders pulled her from the burning car.

She is anticipated to succeed, according to her ex-boyfriend Thomas Jane, an actor who dated Heche as recently as 2020.

According to the publication, Jane said in a statement, “Thank God no one else was wounded. My thoughts and prayers are with Anne, one of the real talents of her generation.

He informed the Daily Mail that following the collision, a neighbor who had seen Heche’s car drive by hurried to the site and assisted the homeowner in removing herself and her cats from the burning building.

He then went to help Heche, who was crammed in between the driver’s seat and an airbag.

“I tried speaking with her a few times asking if she was ok but she wasn’t responding so I had to get closer,” David Manpearl said. “I was able to open the back door of the car and crawled half-way inside. This time when I asked her if she was ok, she said no.”

Manpearl exited the car when flames overtook it.

“‘I was positive that the driver was dead,” he said. “That she had burned up. It took at least 30 minutes for the fire department to douse the flames, extract the car and pull her out of the car.”

Nearly 60 firefighters took a little more than an hour to put out the blaze and rescue Heche from the burned and wrecked car in the Mar Vista area of LA. The home she hit was destroyed.

A disheveled-looking Heche was pictured at the wheel of her car after the first crash, when bystanders were apparently trying to get her to stop driving. One photo showed a container with a red top on it that appeared to be a vodka bottle.

Heche’s brother Nathan died in a car crash three months after the death of their father, which Anne has suggested was a suicide.
