Alexander Zane Reid Lowe (born 7 August 1973) is a radio DJ, live DJ, record producer, and television presenter from New Zealand.

After a career in music creation, production, and DJing in New Zealand, he relocated to the United Kingdom in 1997.

where he rose to prominence as a presenter on XFM and MTV Europe (MTV Two), before hosting a new global music show on BBC Radio 1 from 2003 to 2015.

He now hosts his own show on Apple Music 1, the company’s international radio station. Lowe has also established a DJ career, performing at various concerts and serving as a warm-up act for touring bands.

Lowe was born in Auckland and attended Auckland Grammar School before becoming a presenter on local music station Max TV.

Zane was a member of Urban Disturbance, a hip hop group from the early 1990s whose biggest hit was “No Flint No Flame,” as well as Breaks Co-Op, alongside Andy Lovegrove and Hamish Clark.

Lowe and Clark founded Breaks Co-Op in Auckland and released the electronic album Roofers in 1997 before departing for travel and other endeavors. Both would eventually advance their careers in the United Kingdom.

International DJ Zane is a father. He has been married to Kara Walters since 1999, and the couple has two sons named Lucius and Jackson. The family appears to be completed and content in their own world.
