Three years after getting married, the Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney and singer-songwriter Michelle Branch have split.
Branch informed People of the split in a statement. Saying that she was “absolutely upset” didn’t even begin to convey how she felt about herself and her family. “The ground has been entirely torn out from under me, and I now need to decide how to proceed. I ask for discretion and consideration because I have such little children.
According to numerous sites, Branch posted, then deleted, a message accusing Carney of adultery before making the news. According to reports, that tweet was sent out on Wednesday night (August 10), but Carney has not yet made any public remarks about it or the split.
After meeting at a Grammys party in 2015, Branch and Carney started dating as they collaborated on Branch’s 2017 album “Hopeless Romantic,” which Carney co-wrote and co-produced. They got married in April 2019 and have two kids: a daughter who was born in February this year and a son who was born in 2018.
The Black Keys’ 11th studio album, “Dropout Boogie,” was released back in May after being previewed by the tracks “Wild Child” and “It Ain’t Over.” A North American tour in support of the album is now being conducted by the group.
Branch released the lead track, “I’m A Man,” from her upcoming fourth album, “The Trouble With Fever,” last month. September will see the release of the album.
