According to The Seattle Times, Viet Do Nguyen, 27, died of several gunshot wounds, and his death has been deemed a murder. A homicide simply indicates that a person or persons are responsible for the death of another person.
According to Kent police, the incident occurred after officers responded to a complaint about a vehicle stopped on Pacific Highway South early Monday.
The driver of the stopped automobile, according to the caller, looked to be under the influence of intoxicants. “Male has a gun,” one officer remarked on the police radio shortly after arriving, according to authorities.
An officer stated shots were fired a few minutes later, according to Kent police. Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene. Nguyen lived in West Seattle at the time of his disappearance.
The Valley Independent Investigation Team is investigating the incident, and no other information has been disclosed by investigators.
