A man was sentenced to ten years in prison for giving fentanyl-laced pills to rapper Mac Miller, which ended in his death in 2018.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, Ryan Reavis, 39, pleaded guilty to a felony count of fentanyl distribution last year.
Who is Ryan Reavis?
According to court filings, Reavis gave the tainted oxycodone pills to the third defendant on September 4, 2018, at Walter’s order.
Reavis stated that he was aware of the pills containing fentanyl or another banned narcotic before they were distributed. Pettit allegedly gave the tablets to Miller, whose true name was Malcolm McCormick, after Reavis turned them over.
On September 7, 2018, Miller died of a deadly overdose in Studio City, California. He was 26 years old at the time.
Miller started his career as a youngster in Pittsburgh, eventually earning a record deal with Rostrum Records and releasing his breakout mixtape, K.I.D.S., in 2010.
Swimming was released one month before his death in August 2018, and Circles will be released posthumously in 2020.
