Who is Nicholas John Roske? Man charged with attempted murder of Justice Brett Kavanaugh

A California man was accused Wednesday of attempting to murder conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was outraged about recent mass murders and upcoming Supreme Court verdicts on abortion and gun rights.

Who is Nicholas John Roske?

According to documents filed in federal court, Nicholas John Roske was apprehended in the early morning hours outside Kavanaugh’s home in the Washington suburb of Chevy Chase, Maryland, with a semi-automatic Glock 17 pistol, a knife, and a tactical vest.

Two US Marshals standing guard outside Kavanaugh’s house observed Roske. According to the records, he walked away and contacted 911, claiming them he was suicidal and had traveled from California to kill Kavanaugh.

While still on the phone, the 26-year-old was apprehended without incident by local police.

According to an FBI document, he later informed officers “that he was furious about the recent Supreme Court draft ruling about the right to abortion, as well as the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.”

“Roske stated that he felt the justice he planned to assassinate would rule in favor of Second Amendment judgments that would soften gun control restrictions,” the report continued.

The threat against Kavanaugh was rejected “in the harshest terms” by President Joe Biden, according to the White House.
