Who is Matias Ezequiel Chirino? Army officer chokes to death

A YOUNG army officer allegedly had to drink wine as part of a “hazing” initiation procedure before choking to death on vomit.

Following the passing of Second Lieutenant Matias Ezequiel Chirino in Argentina, chiefs have suspended 11 officers.

After a ceremony to honor joining his new unit, the 22-year-old died early on Sunday morning, according to officials.

His bronchial aspiration from heavy drinking was determined to be the cause of death by autopsy.

Ezequiel Chirino, a grieving father, claimed that among other atrocities, his son had been made to drink alcohol and force himself into a pool at night in the cold.

He stated: “Without a doubt, he was killed. It wasn’t a coincidence.”

He referred to it as “an misuse of authority” and demanded that those in charge “go to jail.”

One of three officers joining Artillery Group No. 3 in Paso de los Libres, near the Brazilian border, was Matias.

The 11 suspended cops include the other two initiates.

When he learned the terrible news, Ezequiel was staying in a hotel in the town after accompanying his son to his entrance to the army unit.

He stated: “The leader of the detachment contacts me at eight in the morning and asks, “Am I speaking to Matias Chirino’s dad? He is dead, so please come and collect him.

“With that icy quality.”

After four years of study, Matias received his diploma from El Palomar Military College.

He had enlisted in the military in Paso de los Libres to finish his officer training.

The army declared that it is helping the Federal Court of Paso de los Libres with its inquiry.
