Perry, who was born on October 16, 1964, is an American attorney who served in George W. Bush’s administration as a political appointee.
Perry began his career as a student at Colorado College, where he got a BA in English before entering Cornell Law School, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1990.
Perry began his political career in 1997 while working as counsel to the US Senate during the presidential campaign finance abuse case in 1996.
He has also served as the Department of Justice’s acting associate attorney general, the Office of Management and Budget’s general counsel, and the Department of Homeland Security’s general counsel.
He was named “Litigation Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal in 2018 for “his pioneering work litigating biotechnology problems and his work on constitutional and federal regulatory matters.”
