Who is Lane Scott Phipps? Washington man wanted for attempted murder

After allegedly firing at police in Lynwood, Washington, Lane Scott Phipps, 26, is regarded as armed and dangerous.


After opening fire on officers trying to apprehend him on Tuesday afternoon in Washington, a man wanted on felony charges for attempted murder is now on the run, according to authorities.

According to police, the suspect, later identified as Lane Scott Phipps, 26, was discovered at 12 p.m. in front of the Pick-N-Pull auto parts yard on Highway 99 in Lynwood.


According to a witness, the suspect shot at least one round while climbing a fence, and one officer returned fire. Then the suspect sped off in his car.

Initial reports, according to police, indicated that the suspect pulled out a black semi-automatic weapon and pointed it at the head of a girl he was with while numerous cops tried to apprehend Phipps.

Authorities said that despite officers’ attempts to reason with the suspect, he fled in the direction of the main parking area of the yard, where his car was parked.
There were no alleged injuries during the incident.

Authorities urged the public to phone 911 if they encounter Phipps since he is thought to be armed and dangerous.

Phipps is characterized as being 185 pounds in weight, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and having blue eyes. He is sought after for first-degree assault, felony harassment, and other offences that occurred on Tuesday at the auto parts yard.

Additionally, the Department of Corrections has active warrants out of Whatcom County for attempted murder and escape from community custody.
