MckourageAccording to online coroner’s records, the purported gangbanger who gunned down two policemen at a California hotel killed himself after fatally shooting the officers.
According to the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner-Coroner, Justin Flores, 35, committed himself on the pavement outside the Siesta Inn Motel, where he murdered El Monte police Cpl. Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana on Tuesday.
A gunshot wound to the head was declared as Flores’ cause of death. Flores was killed in a gunfight with other cops after killing Paredes, 42, and Santana, 31, inside the hotel while responding to a domestic situation, according to officials.
According to coroner’s reports, Paredes and Santana died of gunshot wounds to the head.
Officials originally said that after fatally shooting the policemen, Flores fled outside and exchanged gunfire with additional officers.
Santana’s mother blamed the prosecution for her son’s murder, and the progressive LA County District Attorney George Gascón has come under fire for his role in the killing.
Flores had pled guilty to criminal possession of a handgun last year and was on probation at the time of the double killing.
According to court documents, Flores’ probation officer asked that the suspected gang member come to court later this month.
