Former news anchor for CTV Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Christine Bentley is a journalist from Canada. She has worked at CTV News since 1977.At Barrie’s CKVR-TV, Christine Bentley got her start in the industry. Following a brief spell as a summer correspondent for CBC News in Toronto, she then transferred to CFTO-TV Toronto (CTV). Bentley worked as a general assignment reporter before being sent to Queen’s Park and then Toronto City Hall.
The next year, she worked weekends as a news anchor before transitioning to the 11:30 news, where she co-anchored with Ken Shaw. This was her next step in her career. The 6:00 p.m. evening news as well as the noon broadcast alongside her seasoned CTV News co-anchor were the upcoming assignments.
After 35 years with CFTO, she announced on September 12, 2012, on CTV News at Six that she would be departing the network to pursue other interests. On September 14, Bentley’s final CTV News at Six appearance aired. Michelle Dubé is in charge now.
