Who has custody of Britney Spears kids and how is she sharing the children’s upbringing with Kevin Federline?
The answer may surprise you. Although the two no longer live together, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have a co-parenting agreement.
As of 2019 they share 50/50 custody. According to Kevin Federline’s lawyer, the kids are doing well under his care. But is this the end of the story?
After the breakup, Kevin filed a police report against Jamie for allegedly abusing Sean Preston. The police later granted the restraining order against Jamie and banned him from coming near Sean for three years. Kevin filed this order without any opposition from Britney’s father.
But this restraining order didn’t last forever. The two sides have a long way to go to get the custody arrangement changed, and Britney is attempting to make it work.
Kevin and Britney Spears’ custody agreement isn’t perfect. The judge granted Kevin Federline 70 percent custody and Britney has 30 percent unsupervised custodial rights.
In September, Kevin and Britney had reached an agreement that split custody 50-50. However, Britney Spears’ new custody agreement re-ordered the original arrangement. The new custody order became effective on August 28.
After the breakup, the pop star was left hospitalized after refusing to give up custody of her two sons. Her ex, Kevin Federline, was awarded sole legal and physical custody.
However, her conservatorship was lifted after a fourth incident in which she allegedly assaulted a paparazzi vehicle with an umbrella.
The divorce settlement between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline is expected to be final in 2020.
