Teletubbies, a popular British television series that debuted in 1997, followed the lives of Laa-Laa, Dipsy, Tinky-Winky, and Po.
Aside from the adorable creatures, there was a baby girl who was the sun’s face, and now fans want to know where she is.
Where’s Baby Sun Teletubbies Now?
Jessica Elizabeth Smith played Sun Baby in all five seasons of Teletubbies.
From 1997 to 2001, she played Sun Baby, and she also appeared in the 2002 spin-off series Teletubbies Everywhere.
In Teletubbies: Christmas in the Snow, she played the Child of the Sun.
Sun Baby’s identity was unknown for years, but Smith finally revealed herself in a Facebook post.
“I decided it was time to tell everyone. I was hiding it, but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I gained the confidence to come out with it,” she wrote via The Independent.
“I am the Sun from Teletubbies. There have been quite a few people pretending to be the Sun but only I can tell you the real story.”
Smith then explained that her father held a teddy bear behind the camera during the recording to capture her distinct laughter.
Sun Baby has been on our screens for over 20 years, and many people are wondering where she is now.
Smith has continued to live a quieter life since leaving the spotlight, but has appeared on a few TV shows over the years.
It is unclear what she is at this time, but she frequently posts pictures of her life on Instagram to her more than 3000 followers.
Will Teletubbies be on Netflix?
Teletubbies made headlines again in 2022 after auditioning for season 15 of Britain’s Got Talent.
Their success on the songs of One Direction and Beyoncé was enough to get four “yes” from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alisha Dixon, and David Williams.
“Somehow Teletubbies do anything that is entertaining,” Williams said at the time.
Although they may have been a fan favorite, the group was unable to reach the semi-finals.
However, a few months later, in September, it was announced that Teletubbies would return to the screen in a new Netflix series.
The new series will be narrated by Unbreakable star Kimmy Schmidt Tituss Burgess and will feature a new Sun Baby.
According to a press release, the show will premiere on November 14 and will follow Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po as they “learn and grow in the 21st century.”
At this time, it is unclear who the new Sun Baby is.
