Monica Samille Lewinsky (born July 23, 1973) is a former White House intern, activist, media personality, and fashion designer in the United States.
In 1995 and 1996, President Bill Clinton admits to having an affair with Monica Lewinsky when she worked at the White House.
Later, the affair and its fallout (which included Clinton’s impeachment) were dubbed the Clinton–Lewinsky controversy.
Lewinsky earned international celebrity status as a result of the media coverage of the political crisis.
She went on to do a range of things, including developing her own line of handbags, acting as an advertising spokesperson for a diet plan, and working as a television personality.
After leaving the public eye, Lewinsky went to London to earn a master’s degree in psychology.
She reappeared in the public eye in 2014 as a social activist who spoke out against cyberbullying.
Where is Monica Lewinsky now?
Lewinsky has been a part of pop culture’s re-examination of the relationship in recent years. She sat for interviews for The Clinton Affair, an A&E docuseries that premiered in November 2018.
Lewinsky said on Aug. 6 that she has signed on to produce the future season of Ryan Murphy’s famous American Crime Story, which will focus on the Clinton impeachment. Murphy earlier stated that he would only do the show if Lewinsky was a part of it.
In the series, Beanie Feldstein will play Monica Lewinsky.
On Aug. 6, Lewinsky told Vanity Fair, “People have been co-opting and telling my part in this story for decades.” “In reality, it has only been in the last few years that I have been able to truly recover my story.”
