What diseases does Rhod Gilbert have? Confirms Cancer Diagnosis

Rhod Gilbert has informed his followers that he has been diagnosed with cancer and that Velindre Cancer Centre is providing his treatment after a number of recent event cancellations.

The former Never Mind the Buzzcocks host just wrapped off his year of touring and started preparing for a protracted hiatus from the spotlight.

Gilbert, 53, who is well-known for his appearances on shows like Would I Lie To You and Live At The Apollo, stated today (July 14) that he is undergoing cancer treatment, shockingly shocked the comedy industry.

“As a proud patron of Velindre Cancer Centre, I’ve traversed the world, held crazy quizzes and star-studded comedy evenings,” the author wrote in a statement uploaded to his official Facebook page. I’ve gotten to know and become friends with a lot of amazing patients, employees, and their families.

“So while I never imagined that I would be a patient here, I know better than anyone that I am in the best possible hands. The NHS care I’m receiving is incredible.”

Despite the upsetting news, Gilbert still found room for a joke as he hoped that following his cancer treatment he would “come out the other end with a new stand-up show and a 40 minute rant about orange squash”
