Tina Monzón-Palma is a Filipina broadcast journalist and anchorwoman who was born Mara Cristina Mapa Monzón on March 29, 1951 in Manila. She is well known for her work as a late-night news anchor on numerous Philippine television news programs on various networks.
During her tenure as GMA News executive, she became the network’s first female news anchor and established the Public Affairs department. She afterwards moved to ABC-5 (later renamed TV5, currently 5) to run its operations.
She oversaw ABS-public CBN’s service campaign against child abuse under the network’s Bantay Bata social welfare program when she resigned after five years. She eventually replaced Loren Legarda as the anchor of ABS-late CBN’s news show The World Tonight.
