Talia Castellano was an American internet personality and model who was best known for her work on YouTube and for becoming the first honorary CoverGirl in 2012.
Talia Joy Castellano was born on August 18, 1999, in Goldenrod, Florida, the United States of America.
Talia Castellano was raised by her parents Desiree Castellano and Marc Winthrop. She was brought up alongside her siblings Mattia Castellano, Kaitlyn Castellano, and Jackson Winthrop.
Talia Castellano spent her childhood growing up around central Florida with her mother, Desiree Castellano, and in New York City alongside her father, Marc Winthrop.
Talia Castellano has been experiencing fevers and abdominal pain since she was 7 years old. Talia was mostly ill throughout her lifetime. She battled the diseases of neuroblastoma and leukaemia for six years.
Talia Castellano rose to prominence on the internet and had a YouTube channel, taliajoy18. She was active on the channel from 2011 to 2013 and usually posted content on makeup tutorials. She amassed around 1.42 million subscribers alongside total views of 96.2 million.
A family friend and cancer survivor Tammy DeLaRosa taught Talia Castellano how to use makeup. On August 27, 2011, Talia Castellano uploaded her first makeup tutorial, “Crazy eyeliner” to YouTube which eventually gained over 30,000 views.
The YouTube Rewind of 2013 was dedicated to Castellano. Talia Castellano and her father, Marc Winthrop, co-founded a charity, Band of Parents, for her pursuit of a neuroblastoma cure.
Talia Castellano collaborated with the Orlando-based BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation to support children battling cancer in central Florida. Talia Castellano appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2012 and was announced as a face for CoverGirl cosmetics.
Talia Castellano passed away sadly on July 16, 2013, at the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, in Orlando, Florida, United States of America. She had spent the last three months of her life in palliative care. Talia Castellano was laid to rest at the Ohev Shalom Cemetery, in Orlovista, Florida, United States of America.
