The Greenville County Coroner’s Office reports that the woman was strangled to death after being discovered dead in an abandoned residence on South Leach Street on Saturday.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Coroner’s Office, Susan Elaine Donald, 69, of Greenville, died as a result of oxygen deprivation brought on by strangulation.
The manner of death was determined to be a homicide on Monday after an autopsy was completed.

According to warrants acquired by the Greenville Police Department, Ricky Dick McCullough, 63, of Greenville, was charged with murder and criminal sexual conduct. McCullough and Donald, according to the police, were recent acquaintances.
According to arrest warrants, McCullough punched Donald in the face and then strangled her.
She was kind to everyone she encountered and never met a stranger, according to neighbors near the house where Donald was discovered.
Barbara Barton recalled that she was “always cordial with everyone, a very nice girl, and always spoke.”
Barton claimed to have known Donald since 2009 and recalled observing her sitting on her front porch every morning.
According to jail records, McCullough was detained at the Greenville County Detention Center following his arrest on Tuesday night.
