Sophie Thibault CQ (born May 2, 1961) is a television reporter for the TVA network in Quebec. Her first appearance on television was in 1988, and she covered the Oka conflict in the summer of 1990.
She later went on to work for the morning show Salut, Bonjour! as a journalist. She also worked with colleague Claude Charron on the film Le Match de la vie.Following Simon Durivage’s resignation in 2002, she became the anchor of Le TVA 22 heures, with an average audience of around 650,000 viewers.
Sophie Thibault was the topic of a master’s thesis written by a former rad-can journalist in the United States, entitled La Perspective Femme dans les Telejournaux.In the year 2020, Thibault was named a Knight of the National Order of Quebec.
