Pia Arcangel is the stage name of Maria Pia Concepcion Arcangel-Halili, who was born on December 8, 1978 but is better known simply as Pia Arcangel. She is a journalist and television newscaster in the Philippines.
Arcangel got his start in journalism working as a courtside reporter for UAAP basketball games that were broadcast on Studio 23. (now ABS-CBN Sports and Action). She joined the GMA Network morning show Unang Hirit as a host in 2003. Unang Hirit airs on the GMA Network.
She also presented the children’s show Art Angel alongside Tonipet Gaba and Krystal Reyes, for which she and her co-hosts were recognized as the Best Children Show Hosts at the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd PMPC Star Awards for Television.
She co-anchored Balitanghali with Raffy Tima for nine years in QTV/Q (now GMA News TV), before being permanently replaced by Connie Sison as of November 10, 2014.
During that time, she was succeeded by GTV.Currently, she may be seen as a co-host on both 24 Oras Weekend and Saksi.
