San Antonio police have detained two men, Michael Aguero and Richard Dietz, and charged them with aggravated robbery in connection with an incident on January 14.

According to court records acquired by KSAT, the men tracked down a teenager who had been playing ding-dong ditch with friends around the neighborhood close to Nash Avenue.

When Dietz caught up with the teen, he allegedly ordered him to fall to his knees while Aguero arrived with a weapon and demanded identification.

The teen admitted he didn’t have ID and the men demanded his cell phone before leaving the area.

The culprits were later recognized by the teenager in a lineup, and their bonds are each set at $50,000.

Unfortunately, this is not the first incident of its kind in Texas. Just over a month ago, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar detained a 35-year-old man for kidnapping a 15-year-old girl under duress.

Alexander McCormick cut off the teenagers’ car before getting out and holding them at gunpoint.

According to Salazar, McCormick knew one of the teenagers in the truck and asked the girl to get out of the car and into his vehicle, which she did out of concern for her safety.

McCormick has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault with a weapon, and a $60,000 bond is required for each claim.

It’s concerning to see incidents like these happening in our communities, especially when they involve teenagers. Hopefully, justice will be served and the victims can find some sense of closure.
