Mi-Jung Lee is a Canadian news anchor and television journalist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She currently co-anchors CTV Vancouver’s weeknight 6 p.m. newscast with Scott Roberts. She moved to Vancouver with her family when she was four years old, and she graduated from Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School in 1984. She went on to earn an undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of British Columbia and a postgraduate degree in journalism from Ryerson University.
She began her on-air career in Victoria in 1990 as a reporter and part-time anchor at CHEK-TV, then moved to CHAN-TV (BCTV, then CTV’s Vancouver affiliate) in 1992 and worked in similar capacities until 1998, eventually anchoring that station’s News Hour Final weeknights. That same year, she joined CIVT-TV (then VTV, an independent station) as the 6 p.m. news co-anchor alongside Paul Mennier. Lee became anchor and producer of the station’s 11:30pm newscast when CIVT became a CTV owned-and-operated station as part of the 2001 Vancouver TV realignment.
She also co-hosted the Western Canada edition of CTV’s national breakfast television show Canada AM from January 2008 to June of that year. She returned to CIVT’s weeknight 6 p.m. newscast as co-anchor in August 2018, following the departures of Mike Killeen and Tamara Taggart earlier that year. Lee has appeared in several TV shows and films as a reporter or news anchor, including Snakes on a Plane, X-Men: The Last Stand, Tron: Legacy, Hot Rod, and Watchmen.
