Mel Tiangco is the stage name of Carmela Corro Tiangco, who was born in the Philippines on August 10, 1955. She is a newscaster and host on various Filipino television programs.

She is a news anchor for GMA Network and has won a number of awards over the course of her career.

After graduating from De La Salle University, she became one of the most prominent journal presenters on Philippine television. From 1987 until 1995, she rose to prominence as one of the initial anchors of ABS-flagship CBN’s newscast TV Patrol.

Currently, Tiangco co-anchors 24 Oras with Mike Enriquez and, since 2014, Vicky Morales on the GMA Network. She was also the host of the monthly drama anthology Magpakailanman and

a co-host of the conversation shows Mel & Jay and Mel & Joey with fellow journalist Jay Sonza and comedian-TV host-writer Joey de Leon, respectively.
