Who is Duke Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski?

Mike Krzyzewski, also known as Coach K, is a veteran basketball coach who was born on February 13, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois.

Since 1980, Coach K has been the head coach of the Duke University basketball team, the Duke Blue Devils.

From 2006 to 2016, he was also the head coach of the USA men’s basketball team.

He is a member of the College Basketball Hall of Fame, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and the United States Olympic Hall of Fame.

Here is Coach K’s net worth

He was said to earn between $7 million and $9 million per year.

Coach K retires

Coach K stunned Duke when he announced his retirement in June 2021, at the end of the 2021-22 season.

In a statement, he said: “Our time at West Point and Duke has been incredible, and we are grateful and honored to have led two college programs at world-class institutions for over four decades.

He went on: “This, combined with 11 unforgettable years as coach of the United States National Team, has resulted in an extraordinary journey. As a result of these extraordinary opportunities, I have had the privilege of coaching some of the finest young men and greatest players in basketball history.

“There is no greater joy for us than being a part of our players’ respective basketball endeavors, and, more importantly, their lives off the court.”

Coach K’s team performance in the 2022 March Madness tournament?

Coach K’s team, Duke, was defeated by long-time rival North Carolina in the Final Four game on April 2, 2022.

This was his final game as head coach, and he retired with his team losing.

Coach K stated in an interview about the loss: “I’m going to be fine. I consider myself fortunate to be in the arena. And when you’re in the arena, you’ll either come out feeling great or in agony, but you’ll always feel great about being in the arena.”

He went on: “And I’m sure that’s the thing I’ll miss when I look back. I’m not going to be in the arena any longer. But, dang, I’d been in the arena for a long time. And these kids made my final appearance in the arena unforgettable.”
