Lil Reese Shot


American rapper Lil Reese has been involved in two separate incidents of shooting.

The Chicago-born American rapper initially rose into the spotlight from the 2010 drill scene in Chicago. Lil Reese was born Tavares Lamont Taylor and also goes by the names Reese Money and Grim Reaper.


Lil Reese’s first shooting incident happened on November 11, 2019. Taylor was shot in the neck and critically wounded at a busy intersection in the area of Markham and Country Club Hills. As per reports, the Country Club Hills police arrive at 167th Street and Pulaski Road around 2:30 p.m.

According to those present at the scene of the shooting, Lil Reese had been pursued by a driver of another car during a chase. At about 12 gunshots were heard by witnesses during the chase. The driver reportedly hopped out of the vehicle got into his car, and allegedly shot him with a small rifle before fleeing the scene.


Lil Reese was also involved in a second shooting incident which occurred on May 15, 2021. He, alongside two other men, was wounded in a shootout at a parking garage in Chicago on Saturday morning in the River North neighbourhood,

Following the shootout, they were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Lil Reese got his eye grazed by a gunshot. Upon further investigations, the shooting incident was confirmed to have been over a stolen Dodge Durango.

Lil Reese is a recognized music artist. He rose into the spotlight following his feature on Chief Keef’s hit “I Don’t Like” in 2012. The hit single went on to gain widespread international attention.

Lil Reese and Chief Keef’s single “I Don’t Like” peaked at number 73 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at number 20 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and peaked at number 15 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.
