Leonard Parkin was a British television journalist and newscaster who worked for both the BBC and the ITN. He was born on June 2, 1929, and passed away on September 20, 1993.

The news that the General Belgrano had been sunk in a controversial incident during the Falklands War was broken to the UK by Parkin, who temporarily replaced Michael Nicholson as the main presenter of the News at 5:45 in 1982.
