Joker 2: Who is in the cast? Here is the Complete List

The Joker is coming back to theaters for a sequel to the chaos that occurred in the first film.
Casting news is already making waves as planning and production for the Batman villain’s second film get underway.

Who is part of the cast of Joker 2?

Todd Phillips, the filmmaker of The Joker, said on June 7, 2022 that the sequel’s script had been completed.
Todd shared photographs of the script’s title page, which featured the working title Joker 2: Folie à deux, as well as a shot of Joaquin Phoenix reading the script on Instagram.

Insiders told The Hollywood Reporter a week later, on Monday, June 13, that the second big-screen adaption will be a musical.
A release date for The Joker 2 has yet to be confirmed due to the film’s ongoing development.

Although discussions are still ongoing, this appears to confirm Joaquin’s return to play the titular DC Comics villain in the villain’s second sequel.

Along with Robert DeNiro and Frances Conroy, the Oscar-winning actor lead the cast of the first picture.
The lead actor discussed what it’s like to play the character and work under Todd Phillips’ direction in an interview with Collider.

“I think he’s extremely amazing,” Joaquin said, “and he appears to have a very interesting knowledge of this world and what he’s trying to communicate.”
“There’s something really intriguing about it, as well as working with him on this project.”
“I wouldn’t precisely characterize this as like any genre,” he told the outlet about what fans may expect from his portrayal.
“I wouldn’t call it a superhero film, a studio film, or a… It has a distinct vibe to it.”

Lady Gaga is speculated to be cast opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn, Joaquin’s longtime girlfriend, and fellow Batman foe.

The Joker 2 would be Gaga’s second film under Todd Phillips’ directing, however, insiders have not confirmed that she is absolutely on board.

Todd’s Joker co-producer, Bradley Cooper, co-starred alongside her in the 2019 musical A Star Is Born, which he also directed.

If the House of Gucci actress does play Harley Quinn, the events of the film will take place in a universe distinct from Margot Robbie’s portrayal of the character.
If Gaga is cast in the role, it will be her second big-screen musical and her first representation of a comic book character.
