James Mark Fowler was born on April 9, 1930, in Albany, Georgia, in the United States of America. He spent his childhood growing up in the town of Falls Church, Virginia. For his contributions to environmental causes, the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc awarded Jim Fowler with its highest achievement award, the Gold Seal. In 2003, Jim Fowler became the recipient of the Lindbergh Award for his 40 years of dedication to wildlife preservation and education. Fowler passed on May 8, 2019, at the age of 89 at his home in Norwalk, Connecticut due to complications of heart disease.
