Jeremy Dickson Paxman is a well-known English broadcaster, journalist, author, and television presenter. He was born on May 11, 1950 in England.

Paxman was brought into this world in Leeds, and he received his education at Malvern College and St. Catharine’s College in Cambridge, where he served as the editor of the student newspaper Varsity.

Although he self-identified as a socialist while he was a student at Cambridge and was a member of a Labour Party club there, he later in life defined himself as a one-nation conservative. In 1972, he became a member of the British Broadcasting Corporation and began his career at BBC Radio Brighton.

However, in 1977, he moved to London. In the years that followed, he held positions on Tonight and Panorama before moving on to become a newsreader for the BBC Six O’Clock News and, eventually, a presenter for Breakfast Time.

In 1989, he started working as a broadcaster for the program Newsnight on BBC Two, during which he conducted interviews with a diverse assortment of political personalities.
