Is Jerrod Carmichael Gay?

Stand-up comedian and sitcom star Jerrod Carmichael recently came out as gay in a new HBO special, Rothaniel.

He has previously discussed his conflict over coming out as gay, and he is open about how he came to feel that way. In a February 2019 Q&A for HBO’s Home Videos, Carmichael told his audience that he has always been gay, but that his sexuality has never been a reason for being “attracted” to women.

After his HBO special titled Rothaniel, Jerrod Carmichael has gotten back on the public scene with his own sexuality. The comedian’s first special addressed his father’s infidelity, which left him feeling a burden as a child.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, he never publicly labeled himself gay, though he has spoken about his experiences with sexuality.

Although Carmichael’s relationship status is largely hidden from the public, he has revealed that he is gay during a Variety preview.

He had recently learned that his father was cheating on him, and that he was the only one in the family who had been hiding something. In the HBO special, he explained that his long-supposed sexuality had affected his personal life.

The comedian is currently filming his new comedy special called Rothaniel in which he discusses his relationship with his father, who was an adulterer.

Carmichael’s personal life has also been an open topic.

He has opened up about his past relationships, saying in his HBO special Home Video that he hooked up with men for the first time in his life.
