Isaacs’ performance as the Grand Inquisitor was well received by critics, prompting speculation that he would reprise his character in live-action media on Disney+.

Rupert Friend was eventually cast as the Grand Inquisitor in the live-action limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which takes place four years before Rebels and ten years after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
