Michelle Evelyn Morse is an American internist. She is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital and co-founded EqualHealth and Social Medicine Consortium.
In 2021, Morse was named the first Chief Medical Officer of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Is Dr. Michelle Morse Married?
Dr. Michelle Morse has been married two times. The first time was when she was a resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. During her residency, she worked with HIV and TB patients on community rounds and participated in mobile clinics in Haiti.
She also spent a year working in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, which destroyed the country’s weak medical infrastructure and ruined its national medical school and nursing school.
She volunteered to help rebuild the health system in Haiti, where she learned about the importance of public health and the need for a physician. Eventually, she worked in a PIH-supported hospital in Lascahobas, located in the country’s impoverished Central Plateau.
She is a Harvard Medical School clinical instructor and works at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She has been active in global health and social medicine for several years.
She has worked for the World Health Organization in Haiti as a doctor and has also consulted for the World Bank. During her residency, she worked in the hospital’s AIDS program and helped to establish a school to educate the public on health issues.
