Jacqueline Walters (also known as Dr. Jackie Walters) was born in Port Gibson, Mississippi, on July 27, 1958. She is a practicing obstetrician-gynecologist in Atlanta, Georgia. She is wed to former NBA star and well-known basketball player Curtis Berry. Despite being married, she uses her maiden name when practicing, like the majority of women.
She also appears on the popular reality TV series Married to Medicine on Bravo. Walters has been a recurring cast member of the program since its very first season. Dr. Jackie also overcame breast cancer, which inspired her to start the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation. She developed breast cancer twice, once in 2004 and again in 2008, resulting in a double diagnosis.
She became well-liked among Atlanta’s women and their families as a result of the foundation she established. Dr. Jackie holds two bachelor’s degrees in science. One was from Alcorn State University, and the other was from Mississippi State University. She later pursued her medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. In 1997, Dr. Jackie finished her residency program in obstetrics and gynecology.
At the Medical Center of Central Georgia, the training was done in collaboration with Mercer University. After completing her residency, Dr. Jackie started her own private practice right away. She works for and is connected to North Side Hospital in Atlanta in addition to running a private practice.
