Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is a professional tennis player from Spain. He was born on May 5, 2003. The Association of Tennis Professionals had him ranked as high as world No. 6 in singles (ATP).
Alcaraz has won five ATP Tour singles championships, including two Masters 1000 titles, and reached the quarterfinals of the 2021 US Open, his greatest Grand Slam result.
Alcaraz reached the world No. 22 ranking as a youngster and won two ITF Junior Circuit titles. He won three ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour championships and four ATP Challenger Tour titles after turning professional in 2018, and he broke into the top 100 rankings in May 2021.
Two months later, at the ATP Tour 250’s 2021 Croatia Open, Alcaraz reached his first ATP Tour final and won his maiden title.
After reaching the quarterfinals of the following US Open, he cracked the top 50 and won the year-end 2021 Next Generation ATP Finals.
After winning his first ATP Tour 500 title at the Rio Open in February 2022, Alcaraz went on to win his first ATP Tour Masters 1000 title at the Miami Open in March and his second ATP 500 victory at the Barcelona Open in April, putting him into the top ten.
