How much did Mattea Roach win on Jeopardy?

There’s a new champion on Jeopardy! A Toronto-based teacher, Mattea Roach, became the first Canadian to win six games.

She’s been on a winning streak for the previous two weeks, winning a total of $148,000 (not including tonight’s program).

Roach mentioned last week that he plans to use the cash to pay off his student obligations.

She defeated Kathleen Snyder, a contractor, and Camron Conners, a high school social studies teacher from Rancho San Margarita, California.

In the “Jeopardy!” round, Mattea Roach regained her dominance.

She accurately answered 18 of the 19 questions.

Roach had $9,600 after giving her responses to the first round of riddles.

Zhe Lu was second with $2,600, and Leah Pence was third with -$200.

Roach was able to gain more than the other two players because of “Double Jeopardy!” After round two, the tutor took home a large piece of the prize money, with $25,400 (followed by Pence at $7,800 and Lu at $5,800).

At each stage, the prize money increases. Contestants can name their own jackpot in the final round of Jeopardy!, but it must be within the limitations of the money they have previously won.

The competitors must decide whether to risk it all or play it safe for the final question.
