Gaara, a shinobi associated with Sunagakure and the son of Sunagakure’s leader, the Fourth Kazekage, made his appearance in the series as an adversary.
As part of his father’s plan to acquire a weapon to rebuild their community, he was created as a demon’s host. Gaara, however, became a ruthless killer who believes his own purpose is to kill his enemies as a result of a combination of factors, including being shunned by the Sunagakure villagers, his early inability to control the Tailed Beast, and the idea that his late mother called him her curse on the village.
