One of Kishimoto’s favorite stories from Part I is the backstory of Gaara. Kishimoto had to change the illustrations in these chapters so that readers could better comprehend Gaara’s mental state.
Kotarou Fuuma was supposed to be the character’s name, but Kishimoto’s editor vehemently objected to it.
He consequently received the name Gaara, which he believed was more appropriate given that he usually utilizes sand.
Shinki (, Shinki) is Gaara’s adoptive son and a member of Sunagakure’s Kazekage clan. He serves as the team’s manager as well.
Who is Gaara?
Gaara is voiced by Akira Ishida in the animated Naruto Japanese version. In the English dub, Liam O’Brien fills in.
Before being chosen to voice Gaara, the Western actor was aware of the show’s ubiquity. O’Brien tried out for Gaara’s voice at an early audition in Los Angeles, but he was unsuccessful.
Brien eventually went through another round of auditions and was given Gaara’s part.
