Esther Rose is an American country singer who resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. Esther Rose began her career collaborating with her husband, artist Luke Winslow-King, with whom she was married from 2013 to 2015.
Rose released her debut album, This Time Last Night, in 2017. Rose joined with Father/Daughter Records in 2019 and released You Made It This Far, her second studio album. Rose released her third album How Many Times on March 26, 2021.
2010 on January 1st, Esther, who was born in Detroit, Michigan, relocated to the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. She now resides in NOLA’s Holy Cross, three blocks from the levee, and manages an art gallery in the French Quarter.
She had composed songs in her thoughts “jokingly” throughout her entire life, but never attempted songwriting seriously. That is, until recently, when the tunes in her thoughts became clearer than before.
“They were approaching me,” she explains. I thought, I need to study guitar immediately. Esther recorded This Time Last Night live to two-track tape at Mashed Potato Records in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward in June 2017 and self-released it.
