Later, he secured a franchise from the Ford Motor Co. He also owned the Philippine Air Taxi Co., which he later sold to Andres Soriano.
The company merged with Philippine Airlines in 1941, inheriting the license to operate airliner aircraft. Emil Bachrach also contributed to various Jewish causes. He was instrumental in the construction of the Jewish Temple Emil Synagogue in Manila.
Emil Bachrach was the first American Jew to settle in the Philippines. His extended family also settled in the Philippines.
