Did Jackson Hole Have Flooding?
The Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board is very saddened by the recent flooding that affected Yellowstone National Park. While parts of the park have reopened, the damage is extensive, and people’s lives have been disrupted, infrastructure destroyed, and precious ecosystems may never be the same.
Fortunately, there are some steps that can help minimize future flood risk. For one, higher standards are necessary to reduce the number of properties in severe risk. The 500-year flood standard will reduce the number of properties in severely affected status to 997. By lowering flood risks, you can decrease the impact of the flooding and reduce flood insurance rates.
