Cornelius Crane “Chevy” Chase is a comedian, writer, and actor from the United States.
Born into a prominent family, he worked in a variety of jobs before settling into comedy and beginning his acting career with National Lampoon.
He was a key cast member on Saturday Night Live’s first season, where his recurring Weekend Update segment became a show staple.
He received three Primetime Emmy Awards as a performer and writer, out of five nominations.
He was born and raised in Woodstock, New York. Edward Tinsley “Ned” Chase (1919–2005), his father, was a Manhattan book editor and magazine writer with a Princeton education.
His mother, Cathalene Parker, was a concert pianist and librettist, and his father, Rear Admiral Miles Browning,
was the Chief of Staff of Admiral Raymond A. Spruance on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6) during the Battle of Midway in World War II.

His second marriage, to Jacqueline Carlin, began on December 4, 1976, and ended on November 14, 1980, with a divorce.
On June 19, 1982, he married Jayni Luke, his third wife, in Pacific Palisades. They have been married for more than 40 years.
