Kryst was born on April 28, 1991, to former Mrs. North Carolina, April Simpkins.
Kryst earned her Bachelor’s degree in marketing and human resource management from the University of South Carolina after graduating from Fort Mill High School in 2009.
Kryst later returned to North Carolina, where she earned a Juris Doctor and a Master’s in Business Administration from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2017.
She then went on to practice law in North and South Carolina, concentrating on civil litigation.
In addition to being a previous Miss USA winner, she started the fashion blog White Collar Glam, which was designed to help women dress professionally for work.
