Céline Galipeau, OC, OQ, is Radio-Canadian Canada’s news anchor. She is presently the daily anchor of the network’s flagship broadcast, Le Téléjournal, and is renowned for her thorough and analytical reporting from Moscow.

After a brief career in private television and radio, Galipeau moved to Toronto in 1985 as a correspondent for the CBC and Radio-Canada, where she remained until moving to Montreal in 1987.

She returned to Toronto in 1989 to pursue a career as a national correspondent. She became a correspondent in London in 1992. She was afterwards sent to Moscow, where she covered Boris Yeltsin and the Chechen war.

She relocated to Paris in 1997. She became a foreign journalist in Beijing in 2001. Galipeau was awarded a Gemini for her reporting from Moscow.In 2003, she returned to Canada and was named weekend anchor for Le Téléjournal.

After Bernard Derome’s retirement in December 2008, she became the program’s weekday anchor. Pascale Nadeau succeeded her as weekend anchor.Galipeau was inducted into the National Order of Quebec in June 2009 before being inducted into the Order of Canada in June 2013.
