CNN’s Philippe Cousteau has been a major figure in the media for several years now, and for good reason. Aside from being a special correspondent, he’s a social entrepreneur, environmental advocate, and author of many books. He is also the co-founder of Earth Echo International and a special correspondent for the network’s Amazing Planet. He studied history at St. Andrews University and is engaged to actress Ashlan Gorse.
Cousteau has devoted the last few decades to the environment. He is an award-winning television host, philanthropist, and author. He is also the grandson of famous ocean explorer Jacques. He currently serves as an executive producer and host of Xploration Awesome Planet and is a special correspondent for CNN. His work has earned him numerous awards, and he is currently working on an on-board eco-education program for a major cruise line. He has been a contributing writer to a number of magazines and journals, including Coastal & Oceans.
In addition to his work for CNN, Philippe is also involved in environmental causes. He is a partner with the World Wildlife Fund on the campaign “National Security.” He also serves on the boards of Green 2.0 and the Environmental Media Association. He is an active member of the Ocean Unite Network. The two live in Los Angeles. The couple has a daughter named Vivienne and a rescue dog named Kenai.
