Bernard Derome, CM, OQ (born January 10, 1944) is a Canadian broadcaster who served as the weeknight news anchor for Radio-Le Canada’s Téléjournal until December 18, 2008.

Derome received his education at Saint Lawrence College from the Clerics of Saint-Viateur. In 1963, at the age of 19, he began his broadcasting career at radio station CJBR in Rimouski. In 1967,

he became the anchor of Aujourd’hui (Today) on Radio-Canada, the government-funded French-language broadcaster in Canada.Derome was Radio-Canada Television’s chief news anchor from 1970 to 1998, delivering the nightly Le Téléjournal.

During the October Crisis, he established his credibility and anchored the network’s coverage of provincial and federal elections, including the 1980 referendum, Charlottetown Accord referendum, and 1995 referendum.
