Anthime Joseph “Tim” Gionet, more commonly known as Baked Alaska, was born on November 16, 1987, in Anchorage, Alaska, the United States of America. He is 34 years old as of 2022. He was brought into the world by his parents Paul Gionet and Susanne Gionet.
Baked Alaska was raised in a family of eight. His father is a pharmacist while his mother worked as a nurse. He was born into a Christian family and his parents are committed Christians. His parents run a non-profit organization whose focus is to promote Christianity and provide medical supplies to orphanages in eastern Russia.
In pursuit of educational heights, Baked Alaska relocated to Los Angeles in 2006. Regarding his educational background, Baked Alaska attended Azusa Pacific University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. He has previously worked at Warner Records.
Baked Alaska served as a social media and marketing intern for Warped Tour. He subsequently ventured into the music industry to pursue a rap career. However, he had worked for Capitol Records in 2011 before then. He used his nickname Baked Alaska as a stage name for his rap career.
Baked Alaska had a different way of presenting his raps. While using a satirical tone, he added a touch of his apparent Alaskan roots. Some of his titles like “I Live on Glaciers” and “I Climb Mountains” showed his Alaskan way. He received attention for his satirical sounds and got his profile published in the Anchorage Daily News in 2013 which named him a “comedy/music video artist”.
Baked Alaska increased his popularity on the video platform, Vine as a prankster. His popularity skyrocketed after he uploaded a video of him pouring a gallon of milk on his face, attracting several millions of views. He was previously with BuzzFeed, however, he left the firm in 2016.
At BuzzFeed, Baked Alaska worked as a commentator and supported libertarian and progressive political positions. He also marched in support of Black Lives Matter.
Baked Alaska also travelled as Milo Yiannopoulos’ Dangerous Faggot Tour manager. He made the internet headlines as an advocate for alt-right and white supremacist ideology. He also promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories including white genocide and Jewish control of the media.
The rapper and Internet prankster has also run into legal issues several times. Baked Alaska was arrested in multiple live-streamed instances for trespassing and assault. He was once arrested for pepper spraying a bouncer, in Scottsdale, Arizona, in December 2020. The incident led to him being found guilty of assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass, all misdemeanours.
Baked Alaska was sentenced to 30 days in jail on January 13, 2022. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail for his assault conviction of spraying an Arizona bouncer in Scottsdale in February 2022. He pleaded guilty to parading, demonstrating or picketing inside a Capitol building in July 2022.
